Building a proactive and engaging supply chain service

Avnet Digital Supply Chain

After the supply chain disruptions caused by the pandemic, companies have been urgently seeking more reliable supply chain management solutions. ProscalNext, Avnet's supply chain analysis platform, was created to response to this challenge.

Role: Sole UX Designer

Duration: April 2023 – Present

As the sole UX Designer, I led the end-to-end design and strategy for Avnet’s in-house Supply Chain-as-a-Service platform ProscalNext that helps worldwide customers manage their 10M+ value supply chain data more effectively.

Working closely with the Director and Data teams, I defined product roadmaps while partnering with Engineering to push the platform’s capabilities forward. I restructured and redesigned the dashboard experience, delivering 7+ features to over 10 global customers and 300+ users.

The Problem

ProscalNext (Proscal) has always been on a mission to transform supply chain analysis—consolidating thousands of scattered Excel files into customizable, actionable dashboards. However, after 2 years of supporting Avnet's supply chain business, the team faced a fundamental challenge:

Customers were using our well-curated dashboard
as nothing more than an Excel downloading tool.

It became a major threat to the platform’s success as users weren’t leveraging the platform potentials as intended. We couldn't justify evolving Proscal into a revenue-generating service to drive business impact.

Mission 1

Building a flexible and customizable dashboard experience

When I first joined, the team relied heavily on Power BI to create on-demand analytics dashboards. This approach was both labor-intensive and inefficient, requiring the team to build each dashboard from scratch for every new customer or request. Additionally, the dashboard’s presentation lacked branding and a cohesive user experience, making the platform feel like a by-product rather than a standalone solution.

My first mission was to establish a strong brand identity for the platform, redesign the dashboard’s visuals to seamlessly adapt to customer themes, and create a standardized structure that could be easily customized and scaled.
